"Once in a Blue Moon" we get a chance to just play around. This month was one of those chances. An opening came up in the schedule and instead of rush to fill it up, we had an absolute ball pulling out work from all of our artists, moving it around, making new connections between the different artists, and in some cases their vastly different expressions.
It's incredible to see how different the entire space feels when just one piece is added, moved or removed or a new artist is introduced. In some cases, you're pulling work out and can't stand to see two pieces next to each other, but as you continue to work, you start to see this dialog emerge, one perhaps you would never have seen or even understood without this opportunity.
Such a great reminder to really slow down, pause, be patient, take the time to see, hear and reflect in order to truly understand. There is always more than one story, one view, one perspective. While my experience and understanding will be vastly different from yours, what a gift to have the opportunity to share in this human experience and be in dialog with each other in order to gain a deeper and broader understanding. Because at the end of the day, no matter how different our experience or expression, we are one human race.
