Spring is an interesting time, especially in the Northeast where the shift in seasons can be felt so dramatically. It is a time when we celebrate the longer days and warmer weather, energy starts to increase, people come out of hibernation and reconnect, communities seem to come to life, farms and fields start to blossom. It’s an amazing time.
It’s also an amazing opportunity. We usually think of slowing down and turning inward as a fall/winter tradition and while it really is, Spring offers us that really brief but fully loaded pregnant pause as well – going from seed to flower requires an unfathomable amount of strength and so too does the process of coming out of our long winter hibernation to expose our bare skin to the burning sun!
BLOOM is an exhibition of work that celebrates the beauty and the struggle inherent in the change of seasons. The work highlights the hard work, determination and especially the pregnant pause – from total inward contemplation to our own beautiful outward expression and connection. Artists exhibited include Kristi Kohut, Mary O’Malley, Maude White and Casey Roberts.
